Noise assessment for a quarry in a residential setting

Synergetics staff carried out a full assessment of current and predicted future noise levels emanating from a clay quarry in a residential setting.

As part of this project, extensive measurements of current ambient and background noise levels were collected in accordance with all relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

Synergetics liaised with the stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding of the likely future activities expected to be carried out at the quarry. This information was combined with approved noise models to generate predicted noise levels around the site. These were compared with regulatory requirements to assess the likely noise impacts on nearby residents.

Synergetics assessment of noise-control measures included better management and planning practices, increased buffer distances, and the introduction of noise barriers.

Synergetics provided the client with legal support and advice and successfully representated the client in court.
