Analysis of stack discharge velocity
stack discharge velocity Synergetics was asked to investigate an amendment to an EPA license requiring minimum efflux velocities from a stack at a minerals processing plant.

A complete desktop analysis was carried of various scenarios involving extensive modeling using Ausplume dispersion modeling. The argument for amending the EPA license was backed by solid scientific arguments involving modeling emissions dispersion for a range of efflux velocities, identifying pollution 'hotspots' carrying out worst-case as well as "typical case" analyses and looking at the effects of stack-tip downwash.

The EPA discharge license was modified in accordance with Synergetics recommendations.
